The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast included in our stay was very well done. A broad assortment of eggs, bacon, vegetables, italian meats, cheeses, pastries, coffee, cappuccino, juices, fresh fruit. The hotel has two restaurants they've connected with to offer a 15% discount on meals. We went to one... L'Osteria and loved it. If you stay here, don't make the mistake of walking around the tunnel that goes under the train tracks. Walk through the tunnel to the main Piazza in Monterosso al Mare.

It is a lovely town and a great place to stay if you want to explore Cinque Terre. You can combine a hiking/cycling holiday with a beach holiday. The train service is excellent and if you don't want to hike you can explore all 5 towns by train.
Monterosso itself has pleny to see apart from beaches and the restaurants are excelelnt, especially if you like seafood.

This was the best of our accommodations during our 2 week stay in Italy. Marta was amazing and provides shuttles and a good breakfast of granola, yogurt, fruit, pastries and even eggs, pancakes and cappuccino. The views were amazing and the rooms were very comfortable. I prefer a softer bed than what was in the room. However the pillows and linen were soft and comfortable.
Marta goes above and beyond what is necessary and always greeted us with a smile
I would definitely stay here again.
The b and b is up on a hill and a shuttle is provided but we walked back and forth without difficulty into the main part of town.

Attractive village, but split into two by headland (tunnel links the two). All amenities, but slightly spread out. Good (but when we visited, busy) train links to other Cinque Terre villages. Also boat links if weather ok. We found it an ideal base for exploring Cinque Terre, including walking the SVA (Blue Path), albeit walking is challenging. Scenery to die for.

The walk from Montorosso to Vanassari (SP) is very steep at each town with difficult steps.up and down. It is very beautiful but requires excellent balance and footwork for 300 meter of climbing at each town. The towns are special and the food is even better.

This is the place to stay if you have young kids.
This is the place to stay if you have young kids. We travelled with our 5 and 7 year old and we couldn't have picked a better place to go! Of the five towns, Monterosso al Mare has the best flat beaches that allowed my kids to skip rocks, search for sea glass and play in the water safely.
Very near the water is a playground that was clean and well taken care of. There were nice shops in the square with clean bathrooms and yummy treats we could snack on while the kids played.
A lot of people said that Monterosso wasn't as charming as the other towns, but it was pretty charming in the old part as we walked the streets nestled up past the playground.
We came in April and lucked out with weather. I could see how in the Summer it could get crowded and hot, but we felt like the crowds were minimal and the temperature was perfect.

The hotel is really lovely and the views are unparalleled! Amazing views over the beach and Cinque Terre. The staff were very helpful and even helped us reserve a table at a restaurant. The garden area with chairs and loungers overlooking the view is gorgeous and a perfect place to enjoy an Aperol from the bar whilst waiting for the shuttle or after you've returned home in the evening. The shuttle bus service is so easy to use and always on time - you just have to be a little more organized than you usually would!
Stunning location - room had an exceptional view from the balcony, and just a few minutes walk from Monterosso station. Great base for travelling between the villages of Cinque Terre. Staff were friendly and offered guidance about how to get tickets for public transport. Rooms are clean and good air conditioning for the hot summers! The best breakfast buffet experienced in any hotel, offering a variety of sumptuous pastries, fresh fruit, hot food, juices and more. A great service provided.
Even though there is no breakfast included, Federica still prepared bread and drinks in the morning which is really so nice of her! There's also free drinks on the mini bar in the room.
The room was big and the bed was so comfy. I should also mention that the interior of the room was great! Location is superb, just steps away from everything.
They also provided beach towels which is really good because being a beach bum, I can't resist swimming on the beach.
This place is amazing! The room was very nice and comfortable. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept on in all of Italy. Da Cesare is located in Monterosso's old town and is near many places to eat, shops, and the beach waterfront. They provided a very nice breakfast with coffee daily. The staff is very kind and also recommended places to eat and visit during our trip. This is truly an exceptional place to stay while visiting Cinque Terre!
We stayed in Cinque Terre for 3 nights and were SO happy with our choice to stay at the Hotel Stella Della! Gabriele was such a incredible host! We loved Monterosso and Gabriele had given us amazing recommendations for hikes and dinner spots around the area. We will definitely be staying at the Hotel Stella Della when we visit the area again and we will be sure to recommend it to anyone who visits Cinque Terre!
The location was in clean, more quiet spot in Monterosso, which, after visiting a few of the other towns, agreed was the best location in the Cinque Terre. The staff was thoughtful and kind. They let us keep our luggage at the hotel while we toured the area. The breakfast was plentiful and quite good, especially the artisan tarts. Our room for 4 people was a good size and was very clean.
Hotel is up on a quiet street, just a short walk from all the restaurants and shops in the old part of Monterosso, and less than 10 minutes walk from the railway station. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace and had the widest selection we saw anywhere, and all freshly prepared. The room was perfectly fine for a couple of nights.
The staff was extra friendly and helpful. In our case they helped us to get doctor.
Eventhough the hotel is not directly situated in Monterosso, the shuttle bus is definitely worth and makes the situation better.
Rooms were clear, nice designed and cleaning service was available everyday ( If there was a need...)
We loved this hotel! I don’t think we could have found a better location in all of Cinque Terre. We so enjoyed sitting out on the veranda and listening to the waves and people watching. Breakfast each day was delicious and our server, Margarita, was so friendly, my kids wanted to bring her home with us!
The bathroom was great compared to our other hotels in Italy. We loved the "hole in the wall" that you take to get to the hotel. Very safe feeling area. Beautiful lemon trees right outside the window. The perfect place to get away from the crowds. There was also a rooftop terrace where we ate breakfast.
Great hotel in great location. There is a small refrigerator and tea pot in the room. The owner Albergo is very friendly, he gave us all the information about Monterosso and Cinque Terre, he helped us a lot. We are very thankful and definitely recommend this hotel for everyone.
Wonderful hotel with a perfect location within walking distance from the station, the beach, feries/boats and the hiking paths. Room was very clean and comfortable. Nice balcony. The hotel has a beautiful roof terrace with an amazing view of Monterosso. Luxurious breakfast.
The location was fabulous! Right on the beach and walking distance from the train station and shopping!
The offered suggestions on where to go and eat. They gave us an umbrella free of charge to use for the day!
We loved this hotel, spotlessly clean, and an easy walk from Monterosso train station.Lovely breakfast,a variety of items.Nice bar area to have a drink when you returned after a day exploring!
The hotel was right on the beach, with eateries, bars, ice cream stalls and gift shops all on the same street. It was only a few minutes walk from the Monterosso station too.
very nice location up in the hills. Very helpful lady at the reception. Great breakfast and very clean. The hotel provides a shuttle from and to Monterosso.
